Privacy Policy

Homing: GPS Status & Compass · by BDS Labs · Last updated 16 October 2026

In short: Homing doesn't collect, upload or share any of your data. It works completely offline, and we don't run any servers.

Location

Homing uses your phone's GPS to show your position, guide you to saved spots and, if you choose, record trails. All of this happens on your phone only. Your location is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Trail recording (Homing Pro) uses a foreground service so it keeps working with the screen off. A notification shows while recording, and you can stop it at any time.

Saved spots and trails

Spots and trails are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. Uninstalling Homing deletes them. Android's own device backup may include them if you have backup turned on; that is handled by Google under your Google account settings, not by us.

Sharing

Homing only sends data out when you tap Share or Export, for example sending coordinates to a friend or a GPX file to another app. You choose the recipient, and what happens next is governed by that app's privacy policy.

Purchases

Homing Pro is sold through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether Pro has been purchased.

Internet, ads and analytics

Homing has no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting services and no account. The only network communication is between the app and Google Play for purchases.

Children

Homing is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
